It's that time of year again, to celebrate #Mother's Day.
What is Mother's Day to you? Are you a mother, are you a stepmother, are you an aunt that acts like a mother? Are you a praying mother, a fussing mother, a hard to get along with mother? What type of mother are you? It doesn't matter, as long as you're a trying mother.
To me, Mother's Day is a time with those you love, a time to be honored for the many roles you play. Baby I have been a coach, a librarian, a chef, a beautician, a counselor, a fire fighter, a janitor, a doctor, I have been a comedian, and even a singer ( so much more). A mother has many roles, but the most important role, is the mom life, balancing everything on a regular basis, sacrificing, and doing whatever it takes to raise strong, healthy children.
While life goes on and on, you have to maintain yourself no matter what being a mom. So to all the mothers out there, acting mothers, this post is for you, that is right, don't stop, when you get discouraged, remember those little people are watching you, they turn into little big people in no time and you don't want to get off track too long. Teach them to be able to wipe their own tears, teach them to be able to make their own money, teach them to learn about things they aren't quite sure about so that people can't just tell them anything. Teach them to gain careers, and teach them to buy their own house.
Teach them how to act in stressful times, and hard times. Your role as a mother never turns off.
God views mothers with a high respect, with important responsibilities because they are teachers, nurturers of faith, and pillars of strength. God wants you to honor both mothers and fathers so that you may live long, but God takes care of the evil or wicked mom, not you, you, or you.
If you are holding a grudge with your mom, forgive her now in this moment, it won't suit you well. Resentment is an illness, let the hate go. Parents aren't perfect, but they do have feelings. Help your mom in old age, that mom life is challenging but it is the greatest gift I have ever recieved. Thank you Lord for allowing me to be a mom, thank you for allowing me to change my life around so that I can bring up mentally healthy strong kids. Whoever does the will of God is Jesus' brother, and sister, and mother (find that in the Bible). Do you know how deeply a mother cares for her children? If you are a mother, how deeply do you care for your children? Trust me I know.
Thank you Lord for the mom life. I get to work work work for my children all the days of my life. I get to be someone they called blessed when they grow up. If you have a loving mother, text her and show her how much you appreciate the hard nights, the hard long hours, the comfort during sickness, the hugs during heartbreak, the tears, the fussing, and all that your mom has shown you, be grateful, you only get one mother.
