Planning a Graduation Party

Let me start by saying, this is my second time around to throw a graduation party. My firstborn, graduated in 2021. I remember it like yesterday. He had a live DJ, Chick-fil-a catering, a lot of family and true friends, a water slide, just a wonderful, wonderful memory. I remember needing tables and chairs, napkins, plates, dry off towels, sunscreen, party favors, and more. I needed lots of room, because we have families who love taking part in get togethers and celebrating special milestones.
Now, I have my daugher graduating in the 2026 Class, and I am blogging about throwing her graduation party. I asked her over and over what type of party she wanted, from pool party, to restaraunt, to dance hall, and she came up with air b n b party. Check!! I wanted to know the colors she wanted at her party, and she went with gold, blue, and white. I said okay wow. Check!!! You have to get a guest list in order to make sure you have enough food and drinks. Plan fun, that was it, a lot of music, and girl talk. Family fun during the day and party time during the night.
I had to hire a cake lady, catering company, two times, she is having two graduation parties. I don't remember her big brother wanting this much, but I do remember him taking Dexter down the water slide at his graduation party!!
Party Supplies is next. I. had to gather up party supplies like the ants gather up food. I bought some items here and there just to afford everything before the actual date. I have less than thirty days, in fact, as of today, writing this, I have 26 days to be prepared for her graduation party. That is not a lot of time, so you have to make sure you have everything you need. I would recommend that you start your planning two months in advance. Make sure you get your party favors, your entertainment for 3 hours, because I would suggest a 3 hour party lol. I decided to do board games with my daughter's graduation party, with my firstborn, we did a water slide, a huge water slide, and water balloons, and loud music. That's right, we hired a live DJ who got the party jumpin in the backyard of our home.
With my daughter's party, we just used a sony speaker that played loud, because our budget was tight, and we didn't want to disturb the neighbors during our temporary stay. I mean it was still fun.
So we played corn hole at her party, we played take the pin, you couldn't say congratulations or you would lose your pin, person with most pins won a prize. Location was key in this party planning, we initially signed up for an air b n b down the street from our home so that I could have 24/7 access to the graduates. I had lots of food, chips and salsa, fruit, and cookies (snacks to keep them occupied all through the night). I hired chaperones. Parents had to sign consent forms, you always want to protect yourself during these parties. The party was a success.
Make sure you get thank you cards and a little thank you for coming goodie bags for the guest. I am making 24 goodie bags for our guest. Lol. My daughter said get assorted candy mom, and I did. That is not too much, I don't know how many will actually show up. I placed candy, goldfish, beef jerky, cookies and thank you cards in the bags also. I also made a little goodie cup for the seniors, my daughter invited 5 Seniors to sleep over. I put nice goodies in the cups for the graduates. Being that it was an air b n b party, I made cups with toiletries for the girls and guys including loofas, tooth paste, tooth brushes, wipes, bath bombs, and more.
The party was a success!!!
